Book Review 6 Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
If you haven’t read the first book in the “Hunger Games” trilogy, I hope you enjoyed it because this next review will include some spoilers from book one.
So when we left off in the first book, Cennica Crane has swallowed the night lock berries, which mean instant death, and the “star-crossed lovers from District 12”, have come home to be joined with their families in the victor village, and everything is fine and dandy until the president of the Capitol, President Snow, declares a rebellion war, which means a quarter quell is about to take place, and as luck would have it, Katniss and Peeta have to compete against one another for a second chance at fame and glory. This means that victors from past Hunger games will have to compete again no matter what their age is. And yes that would include Haymitch Abernathy again as well, but of course, he’s too incoherent, and drunk to know what’s happening around him. This also means that Katniss accepts Peeta’s marriage proposal, and the Capitol goes nuts. She has to wear a wedding dress to please President Snow, and of course, the Capitol believes whatever happens in the Games.
