Status by Jordan Belcher is written from the African American stereotype. It also included mispronounced English and terrible grammar, and the book was very choppy in some parts, but the storyline was excellent. Overall I rate this book 2.5 out of 5 stars. It is the first in a series of four, so if you’re interested in reading about a child being abducted by someone with the username lady killer, a murderer, and a 22-year-old mother who’s obsessed with being on social media, then these books are for you.
